Great little saw

I needed a larger cutting depth than my cheap Canadian Tire saw would allow so I purchased this one because of the depth. I am resawing 4"-5" wide x 1" thick basswood into 1/4" planks and this saw, once setup works very nicely. It's a little slow at that thickness, but that's to be expected. I'm waiting for a 1/2" x 3tpi resaw blade to arrive and I believe this will make this operation even better. Set up is KEY for a saw like this. You have to get the thrust and guide bearings perfect as well as blade tension correct to get a nice reliable, straight cut. This goes for any bandsaw. Also, remember that you can configure this saw with two different cutting speeds so choose the right speed for the job you're doing. For the price this is saw is a great deal, especially with the larger cut depth than most competitive options.

Great Hobby Bandsaw

I love this thing. It has quickly become one of my favorite tools in the garage. The blade is easy and quick to change, it's cut through all the wood I've shoved in it. Make sure the tension is set correctly before cutting something thick or with curves. I didn't check that and the blade didn't cut exactly 90 degrees. I adjusted the tension to make it a little tighter and that problem seemed to go away. The blade that came with it is good for general cuts, I'd recommend a nice blad for round cuts or smoother cuts. Otherwise, you can't go wrong for the price and for a general hobbyist/do-it-yourselfer this is great tool to own.

Love this bandsaw

I love this tool. It's much quieter than a table saw and does almost everything I need (including fairly straight cuts, despite what some people seem to think). I wish I had gotten a slightly larger one so I could do resawing on wider pieces. I would definitely advise getting the biggest you can afford. I have no issues with reliability, ease of set up or anything else.

Best tool in its category!

I use this saw to cut curved and beveled parts for wooden boat construction. I have mine mounted on a steel cart with lockable casters. The table height is about 38" from the floor and that seems to be very convenient for me. I very rarely resaw with this tool but it has done well enough when needed. If you need more saw than this you will likely need to spend 3 to 4 times as much for a high quality 14" or larger saw. This was a gift from my wife. Thanks, Hon!
